I was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela
and was
surrounded by art most of my life, as my stepmother, Martha Ortiz de Siegel,
is an established artist in Colombia, South America. In school, I always
looked forward to my art classes. I graduated from Santa Ana College as
Valedictorian with a Liberal Arts degree in 1997 and continued taking many
drawing and painting classes following my graduation. Currently, I am
enrolled at California State University, Fullerton, majoring in Fine Arts,
with a concentration in Drawing and Painting.I received an award for completing a large
mural in the Music Department at Bernardo Yorba Middle School, and received the Santa
Ana College Nealley Award in 2005 for "American in Caracas." In
2008, I received a first place ribbon at the Orange County Fair for my
painting, "Musical Delight."
I am a member of the Yorba Linda Arts Alliance and have exhibited in the
Legacy Gallery in Santa Ana, the District Office of Santa Ana College, Yorba
Linda Celebration of the Arts, and at Cal State Fullerton. Two of my
paintings have been donated to the Orange County Children's Society (Esperando
Pasajeros and La Carga).
My experience includes:
- acrylic
- watercolor
- oil painting
- drawing
- pastels
- faux painting
- decorating walls and furniture
- stenciling
My painting style is evolving with each new painting. I prefer
an impressionistic style and choose subjects that bring me joy. Humor is an
important element in my work…especially now, since we are bombarded with
images of hatred and despair. To contact, please send me an e-mail at
